The hook

Three things to know.

01

It’s a strategy race

Loops mean you choose how to attack the day. Run hard early. Save legs for golden hour. Rotate your team on whatever rules you write.

02

Weather is the unpredictable teammate

Middle Tennessee in February could be 22° and frozen or 58° and muddy. Pack like you mean it. The course doesn’t care.

03

Solo division is real

If you want to stack loops by yourself for the full day, we’ve got you. Solo runners get the same swag and the same finish line as everyone else.

The course

A loop you’ll learn by heart.

Winter Blues runs on the Blue Trail at Edwin Warner Park in Nashville: a rolling single-track loop with a handful of short, sharp climbs, a couple of small bridges over creeks, and a fast finish stretch that’ll bring you back into the start/finish basecamp every lap.

Teams of four swap runners at the start/finish on their own schedule, with one rule: every team member must run at least one lap. Beyond that, no mandatory order and no mandatory pace. Solo runners stack loops as long as their day allows, with a hard cutoff at the end of the race window.

Winter Blues is a BYO-aid race. Teams set up their own tents at basecamp with their own coolers, fuel, gear, and chair situations. That’s part of the format. Personal drop bags, team strategy boards, and elaborate snack tables all welcome.
