Races  /  Half & Quarter Marathon

Lucky Duck Trail Race

Two distances through Henry Horton State Park: a fast, relatively flat trail half marathon and a quarter marathon for runners who want a shorter day on the same trails. Miles that flow fast in places and get properly technical in others, with classic Tennessee rocks, roots, and rolling terrain throughout.

The hook

Three things to know.

01

Two distances, same fast trail

Choose your day: the 13.1-mile half or a ~6.75-mile quarter marathon. Both run on the same relatively flat, runnable trails — built for runners who want trail miles without the climbing that turns most trail races into all-day projects.

02

Fall in Middle TN is the move

October 10 puts you right in the window when mornings feel like jacket weather and afternoons feel like a vacation. Color on the trees, dry trail under foot.

03

A park worth showing up to

Henry Horton is one of Tennessee’s most underrated state parks. We’re building this race to be the kind you’d road-trip for: finish line, park hang, and all.

The course

Fast trail, fair miles.

Lucky Duck runs on Henry Horton State Park’s soft-surface trails — rolling, runnable, and relatively flat for a trail course. Pick your distance: the 13.1-mile half marathon or the quarter marathon at roughly 6.75 miles. Both are built for runners who love being on trail but don’t want their day turning into an ultra disguised by endless climbing.

The course flows through a mix of single-track and double-track with long runnable sections balanced by classic Tennessee trail features: roots, rocks, quick footing changes, and enough technical terrain to keep you engaged. Fast in places, technical in others, it’s the kind of trail course that rewards rhythm and attention equally.

Expect a well-marked route, steady rolling terrain, and a finish that brings you back to the park’s main area.
